During the mandatory intake session client and/or client's guardian will meet to discuss current difficulties and treatment needs. During this session the counselor may give diagnostic impressions and will provide treatment recommendations. Clients and/or guardians will also have the opportunity to learn how therapy works and ask other questions. At the conclusion of the intake session appropriate next steps will be discussed.
Usually clients are scheduled for weekly 45 minute sessions. Depending on the specific needs of clients and/or their families more or less frequent sessions are scheduled. With progress, clients can be scheduled for therapy every two to three weeks. Clients and families can discuss frequency with their therapist throughout the therapy process.
Couple and Family sessions are scheduled for either a 45-minute session or a 90-minute session depending on the specific needs of the couple or family.
We offer a variety of group counseling opportunities. The length of each group depends on the age of group members and purpose of the group. Groups may be scheduled for a specific duration of time (i.e. 10-week program) or may be on-going. Due to different lengths and sizes of groups, fees vary accordingly.
Court related expenses include any time spent, including but not limited to, reviewing relevant documents, preparation with or without counsel or other professionals, preparing reports or other documents, travel, and testimony. An initial retainer fee of $5,000 will be required prior to any involvement.
Consultations include: Interacting with client, client's guardian, or other professionals over 5 minutes outside of the therapy session; Attending parent/teacher conferences; Attending school meetings; Conducting classroom observations; Interacting with insurance providers; as well as Miscellaneous interactions requested by client or client's guardian.
Assessment fee includes: clinical interview, administration time, scoring of materials, interpretation of findings, and integration of results into a written report. The number of assessment hours and cost for assessment varies greatly depending on the presenting concerns and specific assessments needed.
To maintain high quality, responsive services that maximize your privacy, University Park Counseling & Testing Center, PLLC does not participate as a network provider with insurance plans. However, many insurance plans provide reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. University Park Counseling & Testing Center, PLLC will provide a receipt for services that includes all of the information needed to file for reimbursement with your insurance carrier. Check with your insurance provider as to whether or not your plan provides out-of-network mental health benefits.
You are responsible for paying at the time of your session unless prior arrangements have been made. No subsequent sessions will be scheduled if there is an outstanding balance. We accept many major forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, checks and cash. Please be aware that you will be held responsible for bank fees associated with any checks returned by the bank. Payment policy will be provided to client and/or client's guardian prior to first appointment.
Once an appointment is scheduled, that time is reserved only for you. If you are unable to attend a session, contact your therapist at least 24-hours in advance and there will be no charge. For sessions missed or cancelled with less than 24-hours notice, the regular fee will apply.
