Andrea is committed to helping her clients achieve their goals.  She believes that counseling can promote a lifestyle that results in physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.  Andrea focuses on the client as a whole individual, rather than a disorder, and encourages healthy behaviors across various aspects of life.  She conceptualizes individuals and forms treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique characteristics, strengths, values, and needs.  Andrea works diligently to create a safe, empathic, and supportive environment for her clients.  She brings warmth, poise, professionalism and a bit of humor into each session.

Andrea is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the state of Texas.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas.  Andrea began her career as a Psychology Assistant for the Dallas County Juvenile Department where she completed psychological assessments for the courts and provided youth with individual, group, and family counseling. Since then, Andrea has spent the past 10 years dedicated to private practice in north Texas.

Andrea specializes in individual counseling with adolescents and adults and has notable experience in couples and family counseling.  She has extensive training in various modalities of treatment, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.  Andrea is highly skilled in treating mood and anxiety disorders including depression and bipolar disorders, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Social Anxiety Disorder.  She is also experienced in treating stress and other symptoms caused by adjustments to major life changes such as job loss or change, marriage, birth of children, divorce, retirement, launching children, and grief.  Andrea also has a passion for providing counseling services to those who have previously been in or are currently involved in an abusive relationship.  Additionally, Andrea has counseled many professionals working through various concerns, such as hostile work environments, bullies in the workplace, and finding a satisfying work-life balance.  She provides numerous therapeutic skills designed to assist each client in communicating effectively, learning to set healthy boundaries, grow a positive and supportive social network, and develop a healthy self-esteem.
