Brandi enjoys working with individuals of all ages and is most passionate about working with children and families. Brandi values the therapeutic relationship and works to foster a safe and trusting environment with each client. She appreciates each individual as a whole being and works within a client-focused and strengths-based framework. Treatment modalities may include play therapy, activity therapy, expressive arts, and/or talk therapy.
Brandi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ouachita Baptist University and her Master of Science in Counseling from the University of North Texas (UNT). During her time at UNT, Brandi received extensive training in play therapy and parent training. Her education prepared her to work with a variety of individuals and concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, dysfunctional family relationships, and personal growth. She is able to counsel children, adolescents, adults, families, parents, and groups.
Brandi's experience includes individual counseling with adults at the UNT Counseling and Human Development Center. She also has experience counseling families impacted by trauma, as she served as a counseling intern at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. Her work there included counseling child victims of sexual abuse as well as providing support and counseling services to their caregivers and siblings.
